Senior Accountant
Location: Must be able to commute to Sacramento, CA daily but could go hybrid over time
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000/year
Ledgent, a Roth Staffing company, is partnering with a growing client in the health and wellness industry to find a highly skilled Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for a finance professional who brings strong general ledger and financial reporting experience, along with a keen eye for process improvements and systems optimization.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and ensuring timely and accurate monthly closes, while also participating in ongoing systems enhancements and operational efficiency projects.
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and internal management reports
Support annual financial audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities and ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies proactively
Assist in the development of internal financial controls and support their application
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency across accounting processes and assist with implementation
Participate in ERP system updates, improvements, and related projects in collaboration with accounting leadership
Prepare and maintain documentation for accounting procedures and workflows
Provide financial support for budgeting and forecasting processes
Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and clarity around accounting data and reporting
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff when needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-location environment
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Experience with ERP systems (implementation or optimization projects a plus)
High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling)
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
Previous experience in the health, wellness, or retail services industry is beneficial but not required
